HAPPY NEW YEARS BABES!!!

2013 has been an interesting year for me.
I've had extreme highs and ridiculous lows.
But, as of right now, I'm feeling better than I ever have.
I'm blessed.
So, I can only imagine the fun that 2014 will bring.
I wish all of y'all a kick ass, boss, beautiful, exciting, wonderfully magical new year.

I'm not going out tonight; I decided to spend this New Years chillin out, maxin, relaxin all cool with the family. I'm loving it :) But, if I was going to hit the pavement and go to my dream New Year's kickback here's something that I'd want to wear.

oh look, a year's passed.

Akira Black Label vneck dress / Steve Madden stiletto heel pumps / Urban Expressions gold purse / AERIN shimmer lipstick / Foil Gold 2014 Balloon Bouquet 4pc

I take any chance I can to sparkle, seeing as going all Edward Cullen like glitter just would be a bit messy.

Here's a couple of my random resolutions to take into the new year.

1. take care of my body (work out, eat right)
2. write more
3. be you even more than before
4. kick ass in school

What are your plans for 2014? Do you have resolutions as well? I'd love to know about your goals and aspiration.

Here's to a 2014 that's the best year yet,
because, isn't that what we all want anyway?

I LAHV IT; married to the mob

If there's one brand that I'd adore to have in my closet right now, it's Married to the Mob. There's an NY grown street wear brand that's full of countless statement pieces that any HBIC (head bitch in charge) would die for. I'm contemplating right now if I want to splurge on one of their pieces…and I'm leaning towards hell yes.

Here's some dope ass pictures from their Fall 2013 collection.

I'm just going to sit here and weep over these beautiful clothes. Y'all have got to check them out and pick some up so I can live vicariously through y'all :)

if you're looking for something to vibe to; DREAM KOALA

Just thought I'd share this with you all. I just found this artist the other day on sound cloud, named Dream Koala. Their stuff sounds unbelievably awesome. So beautiful. Take a listen.

If you're looking for something to drift you off to sleep, have you feeling some type of way, lead you through your next cram session, or basically any other aspect of your life, add dream koala to your music repertoire.

inspired by; WORST BEHAVIOR - drake

WORST.

When this video first came out, I was took hype to see it. I listened to Nothing Was the Same before hand, and I didn't really catch onto most of it. But Worst Behavior, was one of my favorite songs on the album. And then…it's a single?! Ooh yes.

The video's hilariously killer. But don't take my word for it, have a look yourself.

I was laughing so hard over Drake's dad in the beginning. Looking like a true OG!

I'm the farthest thing from a thug, but this song makes me feel like I am one. I could listen to it forever.

on my worst behavior, as always.

This outfit is loosely inspired by Drake's thuggish anthem; Worst Behavior. I'd totally wear this, if I could get a hold of everything myself. On Polyvore (where I made this set), the only thing that I could find were the expensive versions of these items. So, I figured I'd do a little research on the inter webs and see if I could find a couple of these items for less.

1. Leather Jacket - A leather jacket is a great staple piece for anyone's wardrobe. There's a leather jacket for eveeeeeryone's price range. I've been on the search for a new leather jacket for a couple months now; the one that I have is full of holes and rips and just ratchetness all over. It's got to go. But I've been looking at this one from Forever 21, cause that price is just to DIE for and it's super cute.

2. Bandana Tee - When I tried to find a chapter version of this shirt, all I could find was this $38 dollar crop top from Karmaloop. Don't get me wrong, the top is super cute and if I had enough money to splurge almost 40 bucks on a crop top; I would. But, me, I'm all for DIY. I believe that you can pretty much make whatever you want clothing wise, if you don't mind getting your hands dirty.  I found this dope tutorial on YouTube on how you can make a cute alternative to the tee above.

3. High Waisted Shorts - In my opinion, I feel like mainstream storms are robbing people when it comes to high waisted shorts. Their shorts are like $20 + dollars. I've even seen shorts that are $100 plus dollars. That's a joke. Guys, just go to the thrift store and buy some high waisted jeans to cut. Those jeans are seven dollars at most, and you'll be giving yourself a fun project that looks swagtastic.

4. Comme Des Fuckdown beanie - This is a beanie that I've seen all over the blogs and all over Tumblr. First it started with A$AP Rocky blasting it, now everyone and their mother has a Comme Des Fuckdown beanie. Except me. (frowny face) If you don't mind waiting for a bit, you could ship one over from China, and start flexing on these hoes and tell them what's up! Be on your worst behavior!

5. Litas - Litas were a fad too, but they're still extremely cute. All I hear about is their comfort and their durability, but their just a bit out of my price range. Many stores have dupes of these, but I found these on Amazon in tons of cute colors to go with all of your lovely outfits. When I put up my size, they came up as a fraction of a price of the Jeffrey Campbell ones. That sounds good enough for me.

I hope this helped you save a little bit of cash; we all need that extra dollar in our pocket.

WORST.

sorry i just had to, nia xoxooxx

RANDOM & INSIGNIFICANT; acid rap; chance the rapper

With me and music, I usually have one of two types of relationships with it. Either I hate it deeply inside of my soul, or I love it enough to only play it for the rest of my life. Today, I found out of another mixtape that I will probably love for the rest of my life.

Now, unlike most, I'm not ashamed to say that I like Justin Bieber. I've loved him ever since I watched him on YouTube, before he got famous. He might be a little bit crazy now (you know, considering all the tattoos and the getting caught sleeping with prostitutes), but I'm still hooked onto the kid. I've been keeping up with his Music Mondays for the past couple of months, and the last song he released, was this song called Confident, featuring this random guy named Chance the Rapper.

"Tattoos, piercings, and she just learned to twerk." (Obviously, the description of the most wanted woman in today's society. Got a long way to go.)

This song isn't really anything special; just something you might listen to when getting ready. It's not anything you could write an essay about. Even Chance's verse isn't really all that great content wise, but I really liked how he put things together. He made some odd connections between things that I've never learned before, and I really loved his voice. I don't know why….his voice was just hilarious to me! So I had to research this guy and see what he was all about.
First, I looked up the guy on YouTube to see his most popular songs. I found "Juice" and "Everybody's Something"; which I thought were dope. The beats were killer, and I could really feel was this guy was saying. He's quite poetic; it sounded like something I could dissect in my english class. I then went to download "Acid Rap", which is when the obsession beings.
I'm listening to it right now, and I'm not even finished with it yet but I know this album is going to be on repeat for a very long time. I haven't skipped a song yet, and everything's got be bouncing off the walls over how euphonious it is. (I tried to find a word meaning "pleasing to the ears", and that's what I found. SAT word of the day) I'll put my favorite song from the album below, so y'all can have a chance at this kickass mixtape.

What's your favorite album of 2013? I'd love to get some suggestions to build up my music tastes. If I say so myself, this year has been filled with kick ass music. I can only imagine what type of crazy shit 2014 gonna have.

                                                             bye baes, nia xoxooxox

FOLLOW ME ON BLOGLOVIN

If you're grieving over the inevitable loss of Google Reader like me and are dying for an alternative, Bloglovin is a great alternative. I've already transferred all my Google Reader blogs to Bloglovin, so I won't be spazzing out once July comes and Google Reader is gone.
I think I still might shed a tear though.
But, you should follow me on Bloglovin once you've transferred. *Exaggerated Wink*

till next time, Nia

RANDOM & INSIGNIFICANT; born sinner, opposite of a winner

It took me a while to remember that J.Cole was streaming Born Sinner for free online, since the album has just been leaked. I was mad when I found out that it happened, because I truly believe that J Cole is a great addition to hip hop. He's a part of the new generation that succeeds in using hip hop as an art form, and not just some sort of thoroughly superficial composition of misogyny, drug use, and constant partying. I mean, I'm not saying that it comes from complete left field with it's subject matter, but it's a great step in the right direction when we have people like Juicy J, Waka Flocka Flame, and 2 Chainz. We have to balance it out people.
I figured I would listen to Born Sinner; I'm smack dab in the middle of it right now. I quite adore it; it doesn't sound like radio hip hop and it's refreshing. My favorite song by far is Forbidden Fruit, with Kendrick Lamar. I could go on and on about him, but let's just say I still listen to good kid M.A.A.D City all the time. I won't say that I totally get the overall story of Born Sinner, as I did with GKMC. When I listened to GKMC I felt as if I was watching one of those 90s hood movies like Juice or Menace II Society, eavesdropping in on their lives. Born Sinner's more of a life rapidly flashing before your eyes type of album, with certain problems in life being explained but not necessarily in order.

So, if you've got some free time on your hands it's worth while to take a listen to Born Sinner. It's quite the experience. If you fall in love with it, as I did, it comes out on June 18. Buy a copy, support talent!

Power trip is a close second on my favorites, and the video is pretty brilliant. &, of course, there's Miguel.
